Tish Morrical, JD
Tisha Morrical's law practice focuses on civil litigation, family law, mediation, elder law, guardian ad litem work, and family law case management. She is a mediator approved by the Kansas Supreme Court and is often appointed to represent children in their parents' divorce case, as well as appointed by the court to serve as a type of arbitrator in family law cases under the Kansas Case Management statute. Tish's practice is a regional practice that covers most of the north central Kansas area and she frequently travels to many different counties as needed by her clients.
Tish was born in Norton, Kansas into a multi-generational, German immigrant farm family and attended Bethany College-Lindsborg. In 1990, she obtained her bachelor's degree with majors in Social Work and Sociology, and a minor in Administration of Justice. After receiving her undergraduate degree, Tish worked for the
Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services (now the Department of Children and Families) in the Adult Protective Services Unit and began her Master's program at the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare. She completed her dual Masters of Social Work and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Kansas in 1996. After graduation, Tish joined the law firm of Hampton & Royce, L.C. in Salina, and became partner in 2001.
Tish is actively involved in the legal and local communities. She has been elected to the Board of Governors for the Kansas Bar Association and is a member of the Bench-Bar Committee for the 28th Judicial District. She is an adjunct professor at Fort Hays State University's Master of Social Work Program. She is the past President of the Family Law Section of the Kansas Bar Association and remains on the executive board. She has also served as the past President of the Solo and Small Firm Section of the Kansas Bar Association and the Saline-Ottawa County Bar Association. She was most recently voted ‘Best Attorney’ in Salina in 2022, where she is regularly a finalist.
When she’s not at work, she’s probably doing chores on her yet unnamed farm in Central Kansas, with her son trying to talk her into more welding projects.
Crystal Chenoweth, Legal Assistant
Crystal is the hero of the duo behind the scenes. Nothing happens without Crystal! She has 22 years of experience as a legal secretary and she has worked with Tish for nearly 11 years. Crystal is highly skilled in organization, phone skills, and patience.
Crystal is originally from the Clay Center and Concordia areas and is a veteran of the US Navy, where she served, among other places, in Guam and as a radioman on the USNS Saturn from 2002 to 2004.
In her spare time,. Crystal has worked and studied to become a licensed minister with the Assembly of God Church and she is continuing to work towards ordination. She and her husband have three adult children, and she is a proud grandmother.
